Victims’ rights include the right to speak at their abusers bail hearing. Individuals who have been subjected to domestic violence and intimate partner abuse are permitted to attend the offender bail hearing and discuss the threat that the perpetrator poses. Victims’ rights also permits the victim to be informed about all of the judicial hearings and advances related to their cases so that they may attend these hearings and advances related to their case so that they may attend those hearings if they choose to. Once the court proceedings are complete, victims’ rights require that the victim be provided with access to information regarding the offender’s conviction and penalty.” LAWS.COM

The other day I received an email with Joe Hendricks propaganda about how he “ Stands up for the victims and he’s hard on the criminals”. I was so compelled to write this because I feel like folks need to know “The Truth”. August 2011, I was almost killed by and ex-boyfriend who broke into my home and terrorized me for two hours. He choked me violently over his head and damaged vertebrae in my neck and back, 3rd degree sprain to my left my , slapped me, tried to beat me over the head with a fire proof safe, busted me in the mouth with the phone when I tried to call 911. He flattened my tire on my car, stole my keys, broke my cell and poured lighter fluid all over the house, set important papers on fire including evidence against him. He threatened to burn my house down and to kill me. I escaped with my life in the dark with no shoes running on gravel to the nearest home for safety. He then continuously stalked me for 4mths.

Joe Hendricks and his attorneys took this case to Grand Jury.

Later 2 counts of Aggravated Stalking were added to the charges.

As the victim in this case I was never notified that he would be put on the court calendar or that he would be in front of the Judge for a plea. I was preparing myself for trial and was informed by a young clerk in the DA’s office two hours after Pritchett was released that he had plead guilty and was released. When I confronted Joe Hendricks and his attorney, I was told, “I am sorry, we screwed up”. They made excuses for why they took the plea, I had piercings and tattoos and that my spiritual belief wouldn’t sit well with Jurors. They claimed they had folks that would testify to things I never said.

This repeat offender was sentenced to six years MISDEMEANOR PROBATION, $1300 FINE and restitution to the victim in the amount of $459. Recently the perpetrator violated his probation and there was a revocation hearing. Three witnesses came forward to testify that Pritchett had a history of violence against women and endangering the life of a child and had abused and killed animals. Judge Mercier was faced with a hard decision because if he had been charged with felonies he would be in prison today. She revoked three years and sentenced him to Mental Court.

Honestly folks if we allow Joe Hendricks remain in this position of power we will all suffer as a community and as human beings. This community is “NOT SAFER” with Joe Hendricks in office! We are at the mercy of wife beaters, child endangerment, animal killers and rapist. Georgia is 10th in the nation for men killing women and Joe Hendricks needs to stop acting like he is new here. This madness must stop and we need folks in office that can change those statics for Georgia. We can no longer continue to condone his behavior. Say “NO TO JOE! JOES GOT TO GO!”

VOTE for B. Alison Sosebee. She is the voice we need as victims. She will listen, she will understand and she will not back down like a coward and let violent men back out on the street to wreak havoc in our community. We are NOT SAFE with JOE. We will BE SAFE WITH HONEY BEE, QUEEN BEE, BLESSED BE, B. ALISON SOSEBEE.
